Jane K. Ashley has always loved reading and recalls that she had read every book in her local library by the time that she graduated from high school. She attended Wesleyan College, Macon, GA where a beloved professor instilled strong writing skills. She has worked in magazine and newspaper publishing most of her life and has written over 1200 magazine articles.
Diagnosed with Stage IV cancer in 2014, she yearned to share the encouraging quotes that helped her remain positive. Jane’s husband, Harold, and her oncologist encouraged her to write and illustrate CANCER: The Light at the End of the Tunnel, her first full-length book. Her innate sense of humor and love of life shine through as she walks readers through the complicated emotions that all cancer patients experience.
She lives in rural Georgia along with her husband and enjoys growing flowers and vegetables, walking, bird watching and caring for a small colony of feral cats. She is an avid recipe collector. She also loves photography (churches, historic buildings and landscapes).
